I am an artist.
I understand my world by making things.
It’s a messy process, without a beginning or end, and often without resolution.
I see something, finger a texture, reach out to touch a shadow, rearrange the dust on my desk, chew on a worry, tug at a loose end, and waste time untying knots.
Categories aren’t clear, a series doesn’t end definitively, direction meanders, and sometimes I can’t see the beginning until I’m in the middle of something, or even the end.
I don’t know where I’m going, but I do know I have to go.
I don’t know what I’m doing, but I do know I have to do it.
I must.
I trust the process, give myself over to the unknown, expect failure, and am surprised by success.
I like to work alone, set my own pace, poke around in my studio, and live in my head.
I don’t play nicely with others.
Join me, please. Open my website, come into my studio, share the journey.
I like company; I welcome interruptions.
